How to set up an email account on iPhone

1. Find the settings

Let’s jump straight in. Find your settings app on your phone, which is the grey gear icon.

Scroll down to Mail > Accounts and then click Add Account.

You should then be faced with this screen where you select Other.

2. Enter your supplied details

Name
Enter the text you wish to appear in someones inbox when you send them an email. Generally your own name. You may also want to include the business name.

Email
Enter your full email address.

Password
Carefully enter your password.

Description
This is just for you, it will appear as the mailbox inside the mail application on your phone. Personally, I like to use the email address. Keeps it simple.

Double, triple quadruple check
One typo here and your emails will not work.

3. More details please

Some details will already be filled in here, we just need fill the remainder.

Password
Enter your password.

Outgoing mail server

Username
Enter your full email address again (it does suggest this is optional, but it is required)

Password – Enter your password (it does suggest this is optional, but it is required).

Carefully re-read
Have a look over it, make sure there are not typos. Easier to fix them now than troubleshoot later.

4. Tick, tick, tick

Once verified you should see ticks down the right hand side. Fantastic, you’re so close.

5. Just mail, thanks

Be sure mail is on and notes are off then click save, top right.

6. You’re all set up

Once you have saved, you can hit the home button. Navigate to your Mail application and send away.

Send us a test email to check if you like, we’ll happily respond to let you know it’s working.
